Parents are looking for answers to “unacceptable” school video | News

Paducah – The parents of the Paducah Middle School have unanswered questions after a video on Monday was spread on social media.

A video spent social media on Monday, in which a suspected PMS employee increases his voice in the students in the cafeteria by increasing explosives using explosions and informing them that they “close the F -up”.

The video that was recorded by a person sitting on a cafeteria table shows the interior of the cafeteria and other students, while an adult can be heard how students are shouted in the background. The video does not show the adult who screamed. It is unclear what the adult prompted to exhibit the reaction recorded in the video.

Paducah Public Schools refused to answer reporter questions in connection with the incident and did not confirm whether the incident was examined.

Anne Bidwell, director of personnel resources and district communication by Paducah Public Schools, confirmed that the district of the video is known, but did not confirm whether the person belonging in the video is an employee of the Paducah middle school.

PPS, however, published the following explanation: “Paducah Public School does not comment on personnel matters. The district is aware of the video, which is distributed on social media. We expect employees, students and visitors to act with respect and courtesy at all times.”

In response to the incident, the Paducah Public Schools published an explanation with the inscription: “Paducah Public School does not comment on personnel matters. The district is aware of the video, which is widespread in the social media. We expect employees, students and visitors to act with respect and politeness at all times.”

According to the “courtesy and courtesy policy of the school district”, no student or community member is “verbally or physically abused by an employee of the Paducah School”. In this case, an employee who practices rude behavior is intended to do an employee who observes the behavior in “normal disciplinary proper procedures and procedures by reporting the behavior to the client or the director responsible for the employee”.

The district has neither confirmed whether the directive was followed by employees who observed the situation, nor whether the person belonging in the video are negotiated by the disciplinary proper procedure.

The video was published in several Facebook accounts in which hundreds of comments from parents and community members who request accountability were used.

Kimberly Egan, parents of the Paducah Middle School, said she spoke to the director of the PMS school director on Tuesday morning after putting her child into school.

“He didn't tell me what was going on. He didn't told me if something would happen,” said Egan. “Everything he did was a small notebook and wrote my name and what I told him why I was there. … He didn't answer my questions. Really, I asked him if she would be with my child. He said he couldn't really tell me. But in the end he thought:” Well, no, I can. “He said:” I can tell you that she won't be with her child. “It doesn't feel very comforting.”

Egan said her conversation with the headmaster had inspired her concerns instead of relieving her.

“It is really difficult if the headmaster only sits there and how” what do you talk about? “, She said,” it was as if he really didn't care what was going on or really about my concern about the children. “

Egan said she didn't want to bring her daughter to school on Tuesday, but decided that standardized state tests takes place this week. She emphasized her relief that the end of the school year will approach.

“After this year I am only grateful, my children won't go back to this school,” she said.

Other parents appeared at the Paducah Middle School on Tuesday morning to express their concerns about the cafeteria incident.

A PMS parents that shared the video on Facebook wrote: “I am at a loss for words. [My daughter] Came home and showed me a video of school. I know that it is not easy to deal with these young people and teenagers, especially when they all get together. But how does it dare to speak to my child in this way, “she said.” We will be at school in the morning to see what they have to say. I'm sure nothing will be done, so I want to do this public. “

Another user commented on the Facebook post and wrote: “I will be bright and early to ensure [is] treated. “

Despite several parents who deal with their concerns to school administration, they have received no further information about the incident.
