Labour Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua and Nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba yesterday clashed during a Senate meeting investigating allegations that thousands of youths have been conned millions of shillings in pursuit of fake promises of jobs abroad.

Mutua accused Orwoba of spreading misinformation about jobs abroad, alleging the youths have been conned because of personal interest in the matter.

On the other hand, Orwoba asked the Cabinet Secretary to table evidence to show the youths had received the jobs offer and not engaging in sideshows.

The cabinet secretary accused Orwoba that he threatens to lose him and also bother the staff in his ministry, who have not acted according to her wishes since her recruitment agent and have lied to the Kenyans that thousands are affected by the government.

“I have Senator Orwoba, who threatens to be able to make calls and explains that Kasongo is going down and that she will not go down with him in relation to President William Ruto, which I was in the presence of Cooperative Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya,” said Mutua.

Mutua informed the Labor Committee of the Senate that he had already written a letter to the spokesman for the Senate, Amason Kingi, who would like to address the house with regard to the work of labor mobility and also demystified that of Orwoba against him and the Ministry, which passed in bad test.

He accused Orwoba of participating in activities that were not appropriate to their status as a state official, and claimed that she acted as a recruitment representative and lied that the Ministry of Labor combined thousands of Kenyans after not doing things.

The cabinet secretary accused Orwoba of getting the political mileage out of the matter, and asked her to list the job seekers, paid the 15,000 SH for the medical examination and not travel that did not reimburse their money and asked to list the thousands of Kenyans.

“We ask Orwoba, evidence of the citizens who have been looking for loans for trips abroad.

The cabinet secretary said it was wrong that everyone said that the current program had failed, some of the countries appreciated and that those who have changed their opinion can return to the agents and be refunded.

Mutua said that he has not a single recording of someone who paid and changed her opinion and instead her remedies have been refused, he has records about those who believe that the program was delayed, and they were informed what was happening and they were patient enough.

Orwoba said her interest in the investigation by an explanation was the supervision when she turned to the national labor authority to benefit young people from the Bobasi constituency from the program, but instead they belonged to the Kenyans who were affected.

“I was threatened to be broadcast as a senator because I am determined to master the interests of thousands of young people who were affected by millions of Schilling in this government job program. I ask my critics to bring them,” said Orwoba.

The nominated Senator said if Mutua had been cheated in the foreign job syndicate to take advantage of themselves, they would fill the Kasarani stadium and he should be willing to explain why they did not throw their money back after not securing jobs abroad.

Orwoba tried to know the agenda of the meeting, whether the letter that Mutua had written to the speaker or the matter that had examined how thousands of guilters Kenyan teenagers had lost their money by the workplace supported by the Ministry.

The committee, chaired by Senator Julius Murgor by West Pokot, said they will have to deal with the probe with the allegations against Orwoba if they deal with the fact that they deal with the fact that they are on the bottom of the house.

The Senator of Embu Alexander Mundigi said that the committee must examine whether it is Mutua or Orwoba, who claims the truth, since the allegations are more engraved that thousands of young people need these jobs and need to know the truth.

Nominated Senator Betty Syengo said that they cannot discuss the content of the letter because he is aimed at the spokesman and not to the Labor Committee of the Senate, a position that was supported by the named Senator Miraj Abdullahi, who said they should continue with an investigation.

The Senator of Kisii Richard Onyonka said that the matters mentioned by Mutua against Orwoba's character would have to have a material application to discuss on the floor of the house, since he stated that it was not suitable as a senator but had raised some material problems that required the investigation.

Onyonka said that he had more than 160 Kenyans in Yemen and in the Qatar, who expressed concerns about the way they are treated by recruitment agencies, and that Mutua had to come out of what they did to ensure the safety of Kenyans abroad.

Mutua said he was to clarify topics because many lies were glued around the foreign jobs and that he tidied up the system to ensure that innocent Kenyans have not been networked since the acceptance of office, and it was unfair to combine him with crimes.

He claimed that Orwoba turned to the Ministry of Labor to seek the opportunities for young people in Bobasi abroad, and later argued that there were some falsehoods and lack of transparency, and asked as Orwoba, those who did not get jobs, minus medical fees.

“I never dealt with private recruitment exercise. You can do anything about anything, but never accuse me of corruption. I was very easy to never accuse me of laziness because I work around the clock to get jobs for young people.
