NYC Migrant Crime: Youth

Times Square, Manhattan (WABC) – After a suspected attack on two NYPD officers, the police arrested several young present gang members on Times Square last week.

The suspects are at the age of 12 to 19 years old.

The investigators say that the teenagers confront their victims in the heart of Times Square and then surround them. A video published in social media shows that two police officers are attacked while trying to stop the robbery.

“The officers have committed the group and tried to destroy a robbery in the wolf package. Instead, they were attacked, thrown with scooters, basket balls and other temporary weapons,” said NYPD commissioner Jessica table.

Five are arrested and one of them posted a picture on social media while flashing in the district that are in spite of gang signs.

“Think of this selfie, right? Think of everything we talk about these people instead of showing remorse while captivating in prison, and deciding to make a selfie and give gang signs,” said NYPD ASST. Boss Jason Savino. “It plays exactly what we are talking about.”

As the teenagers managed to use a cell phone in custody, it is examined.

Mayor Eric Adams says that the suspicious members of a Times Square gang known as Diablos de la 42 are described as the branch of Tren de Aragua, the violent Venezuelan gang.

The authorities say they are the teenagers who rob people in Central Park and the U -Bahn.

“Can you imagine being in Central Park and having 20 people near you while sitting on the U -Bahn station or in one train and 13 people surrounded? How intimidating that is?

Three more are still being sought.

Table says that those who are in custody have some previous arrests.

“This is not a crime at a low level, but the organized violence carried out by gang members that we have already taken from the street to organize New Yorker,” said Tisch. “And now they are back to attack police officers in the middle of the Times Square. It is no accident. It is a system failure.
