According to the authorities, a crash through an Illinois building after the school, in which four students were killed, was not assumed that it was targeted.

Two 7-year-olds, an 8-year-old and an 18-year-old were killed on Monday when a vehicle “left the street for unknown reasons”, traveled through a field and fell into a post-school camp in Chatham, said the state police of Illinois. Six other children were brought to regional hospitals and one remains in a critical condition.

The driver was unharmed and brought to the hospital for evaluation with pending toxicological reports, the police added.

“The cause of the crash remains examined, but this does not seem to be a targeted attack,” said the police in an update on Tuesday.

The police did not say when the driver was arrested or taken into custody.

The identity of the deceased is held back until the next relatives are notified. Post-mortem procedures are planned for Tuesday.
