The responding officials found a non -reacting man who had suffered several stab wounds, the police said. He was taken to a local hospital where he was declared dead. He was later identified as a 42-year-old Adam Hoth from Grayslake.

The police said an investigation showed that the stitch was due to a robbery attempt.

The person that Hoth stabbed was with a friend in the area to buy a motorcycle that negotiated them through the price on social media, the police said.

The police said the two were lured to an address for Harrison and had turned to the residents there. But the residents of this address knew nothing about the motorcycle and had nothing to do with the motorcycle negotiation.

The two friends went back to their vehicle to leave them, but then two other people tried to rob them of their money, the police said.

According to the witnesses, Hoth threatened the two friends with a brick and told them that the situation was a robbery. When they refused to give up their things, Hoth broke the window of their vehicle with the brick and tried to look for the money. Hoth supposedly said he knew that they had money for the motorcycle.

Then a fight between Hoth and one of two people who tried to buy the motorcycle broke out, the police said. Hoth suffered in stab wounds.

The police said that the district of the Lake County district had written off the case, and the authorities found that no indictment against the person would be submitted to the Hoth stabbed when he acted in self -defense.

Additional fees regarding the robbery are pending, the police said.
