Shane Peterson condemned to life in death in death in death in the death of 12-year-old son Gavin.

Ogden, Utah (Kutv) – Shane Peterson, the father of 12-year-old Gavin Peterson, had been sentenced to lifelong prison sentence.

The case began in July 2024, when Gavin no longer reacted to the West Haven family after a call to the law enforcement authorities.

Shane Peterson, 47, guilty in Gavin's death. Another son, 21-year-old Tyler Peterson and Gavin's stepmother, 51-year-old Nicole Lea Scott, also owed.

Judge of the second district court, Camille L. Neider, was emotional when she initiated her punishment.

“You were Gavin's father. You shouldn't earn this title,” she said as she opened up. “I also find it told that I am more emotional than you.”

Judge Neider said it was the first time in 25 years that she had tear -like eyes in court.

When gavin was found by medical rescue workers, they said that he was covered with serious injuries. He was taken to the hospital, where doctors found that he was in organ failure.

The public prosecutor asked the judge for the maximum punishment.

“All the good things they did in the world were completely wiped out because of what they did,” said judge Neider to Peterson when she condemned her prison sentence.

Peterson was convicted of five charges:

• Child abuse murder – at least 5 years until life in prison
• Severe child abuse – 1 to 15 years in prison
• Heavy child abuse, second count – 1 to 15 years in prison
• Heavy child abuse, third count – 1 to 15 years in prison
• Children's risk – up to 5 years in prison

The judge ordered that the punishments carry out successive leadership.

Gavin's older brother Tyler committed himself guilty on 20 to four times with a mental state, including child abuse, which leads to murder.

Tyler was released to his family during the treatment, on the condition that he checked in with his lawyer and pre -judicial services.

Scott joined a guilty plea on April 7th.

She said guilty, murder, two cases of disability of the judiciary, three cases of severe child abuse, endangered child and possession or use of a controlled substance.
