Repairs of city maps after confirming the leak in the Longview Pool

Longview, Texas (KLTV) – On Monday, Paula Martin Jones Recreation Center was closed in Longview because of a suspected leak. From Tuesday the results of a preliminary licking test are in.

We talked to Daniel Parker with American leak detection about the licking test he carried out and his results.

“I would take this section out of it – just make the entire section immediately,” said Parker and referred to the pool. “We use an ultrasound hearing aid that is up to a three-foot area. It can hear frequencies that the human ear cannot even hear. It also enables us to penetrate the sound by concrete.”

We also spoke to John Albertson, the director of parks and relaxation for the city of Longview.

“We were able to determine a place and believe that the leak is in one of our return lines, so we will examine the further,” said Albertson. “We have to remove a concrete and hopefully we can find it and fix our bladder problem.”

The team checked the seams that went over the pool, and they all went well. However, they said that the problem would not disappear themselves.

“This adaptation is leaking and speaks against this wall again,” said Parker.

“We will know a lot more as soon as we have removed the concrete and can see the leak to see it in mind,” said Albertson. “So we really won't know how extensive it is for us to go into this part.”

The city will work with several contractors to include the repair time in its schedules.
