Leighton Meester reacts to 'Gossip Girl' Costar Michelle Trachtenberg's death for the first time

Leighton Meester feels the loss of Michelle Trachtenberg.

The Gossip Alum, 39, opened the death of her former Costar for the first time when he spoke about the lifelong friendships that she had closed during the lead role in the hit TV show. She told Flaunt She knew that the news of Trachtenberg's death was particularly difficult for her to be the same age as she died.

“It's devastating,” she said. “She was a wonderful, talented person, and all of them loved them. It is very, very sad for everyone who knew them.”

Trachtenberg was found dead on February 26 at the age of 39 in an apartment in New York City. Their official cause of death was unveiled on April 16. The New York office of Chief Medical Examiner confirmed to people that the sudden death of the actress was due to complications of diabetes mellitus. The type of death was ruled as natural.

“I remember that she laughed incredibly quickly,” he said to The Outlet. “She was really happy. We all have our ups and downs, our lights and shadows, but she had it – I mean, she was ripe, but she had this childish, joyful laugh.”

The actor further announced that he hadn't crossed the way Buffy the Vampire Slayer Star in over 10 years, but described it as a “really pure heart”.
