Two competitors of the Pacific Division that do not like themselves can face the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for a heavyweight fight for a heavyweight fight against the Edmonton Oilers and Vegas Golden Knights.

The Golden Knights came to the post -season after winning the division championship for the second time in three seasons. While they seemed to be favorites to reach the final of the Western Conference, they showed signs of weakness against the Minnesota wild in the first round and needed six games to reduce the Wild Card team and won their first playoff series since winning the Stanley Cup in 2023.

The Oilers (literally) limp into the post -season and lost numerous important players against injuries in the past few weeks of the regular season. This is the first time that these two teams met in the playoffs since the second round two years ago when Vegas brought in six games on their way to the Edmonton championship.
