Noem is looking for a death penalty for Mexicans

May 6th (Upi) – Kristi Noem, Secretary of the Ministry of Homeland, announced on Tuesday evening that she would ask the Federal Prosecutor's office to apply for the death penalty against two Mexican citizens who were accused of human smuggling, which led to a death of at least three migrants.

According to the authorities, three migrants were killed on Monday when a boat with them and 13 more over the California coast tipped over. Seven of the passengers were still missing when officials from the coast guard abandoned the search on Monday evening.

The federal prosecutor accused five people on Tuesday in connection with human smuggling surgery, including the Mexican national Jesus Ivan Rodriguez-Theyva (36) and Julio Cesar Zuniga-Luna, 30th, who were apparently among those on the ship, were arrested on Monday evening.

Noem announced her application to the Ministry of Justice that the defendant faced the death penalty if she was convicted in an explanation, and said that she would also officially ask the Attorney General Pam Bondi that the couple will be quickly pursued by criminal law.

“The Ministry of Homeland Protection will not tolerate this criminal spoilage or ruthless disregard for human life,” she said. “We will continue to work with our Federal Partners to ensure that justice is served and our laws are confirmed.”

In a statement, the authorities of the coast guard said that they had received the word about the fallen Panga smoke around 6:30 a.m. on Monday in front of Del Mar Beach. Three people were died and four other goods needed medical help. A search was launched for seven other blacks that was canceled that night.

A 14-year-old Indian boy was among the deceased. His 10-year-old sister is not yet taken into account.

Rodriguez -Yva and Zuniga -Luna were arrested by the authorities on the Del Mar beach. Three more in vehicles, which were assumed that they are connected to the smuggling event, were later arrested.

The federal prosecutor accused Rodriguez-theyva and Zuniga-Luna to bring in extraterrestrials, which led to death, which has a maximum punishment for death or life in prison. They were also accused of contributing to financial profits, which has a maximum punishment of 10 years behind bars.

“This tragedy is a strong memory of inhumanity and the deadly danger that is inherent in the human smuggling at sea,” said Noem. “Her death was not only avoidable, but also the direct result of the greed and indifference of smugglers that they exploited them.”

Since the reinstatement of the federal death penalty in 1988, there have been 16 federal executions. In the last six months of the first Trump administration, thirteen of these executions were taken.

President Joe Biden headed in the days before handing over the white house to President Donald Trump, who handed over the deathurates of 37 of the 40 occupants of the Federal Studies in the second term.

Noem's application occurs because the Trump government continues its immigration training and has created criticism
