Fiona Apple Drops Song, video to support mothers in pre -judicial detention

Fiona Apple published the music video for her new song “Pretrial (Let Her Go Home)” with women who were influenced by pre -judicial imprisonment.

In an explanation, the singer-songwriter said that the route was inspired by the women who survived the pre-judicial detention. Apple said that during her time as a court observer she “made notes of hearings” for over two years and watched “and watched”[t]IME and TIME Again “when people were taken away and put into prison, they could not afford to buy their way for free”. The artist added that it was “particularly difficult to be taken away from the people and caretakers who are dependent on them”. In the past five years, she announced that she volunteered with the Free Black Mamas DMV rescue package and “the stories of women who fought and won for their freedom with the tireless and loving support of the leadership”.

According to a press release, the video contains photos and film material that were shared by women who were detained despite an innocent presumption just because they could not afford a deposit. The video produced by zeal and special operations studios “underlines the cold realities of the song and shows thousands of pictures of everyday hope and freedom – warm photos and videos of women who have lived through pre -judicial adherence, capture family moments, personal achievements and community bond.” When Apple sings that they would not let it go/they would not go home “, during the moving video, a story of lost wages, families tearing families and developing shame.

“I hope that this song and the pictures that are shared with me can help to show what someone is at stake when someone is kept in pre -judicial detention,” said Apple. “I put this song in friendship and respect to everyone who has experienced the pain of pre -judicial detention, and the women of the group of the group who taught me so much and who I really love.”
