2025 NBA playoffs: Shocking start into the second round leads to something that we have never seen before

This season was one of the best in NBA history. The Oklahoma City Thunder, Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics all won between 61 and 68 games. Nobody else has won more than 52. All three entered their second series strongly, and with the fourth series, including a team in the Golden State Warriors from a strenuous series with seven games against the ultra-physical Houston rockets, all four higher seeds had to agree in the second round.

Well, we have now played three days and five games in the second round of basketball, and the higher seed has not yet won a game. The cavaliers have both lost home games against the Indiana Pacers. The Celtics and Thunder both lost their home games on Monday. And then, on Tuesday, the Minnesota Timberwolves could not defeat the Warriors in game 1 on their home floor despite Stephen Curry Leave the game with a thigh injury. Put it all together and you get the NBA story.

The NBA had never seen all four street teams in the second round. We live at least as far as the most exciting round in post-season history. Of course, these deeper seeds will have a lot to do for this title. Indiana is well positioned in her series with a 2-0 lead and three home games, but everyone else still has a few options. The warriors still try to find out how long they will take without curry. The New York Knicks and Denver Nuggets are still considerable outsiders in Las Vegas (New York has +270 chances to win his series in the Caesars Sportsbook; the chances of the Nuggets are +240).

But not too long ago, the best teams in the league seemed to be somewhat inevitable. The entire post -season of the Eastern Conference should be in front of the state before Boston's obvious showdown against Cleveland. Instead, we took our first steps into the final four with the Knicks, Pacers, Warriors and Nuggets.

Some or maybe all of these favorites inevitably come back to win their series. Some I have more hope than others. In view of the fact of how often the NBA is predictable to have predictable post -seeds, these few days to start the second round gave the NBA a welcome dose. If these favorites have to progress, you have to earn it by beating teams that have already won games on your home floor.
