Steph Curry 'crushes' through injuries that are unlikely to play in game 2 – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

Warriors star Steph Curry will go through an MRI on his left armpit on Wednesday, but coach Steve Kerr's initial forecast does not seem encouraging.

“I spoke to him at halftime. He was obviously crushed,” said Kerr Reporter, shortly after the Warriors game 1 of the Western Conference semi -finals had won over the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Target Center. “But the boys picked him up and played a great game. Obviously we are concerned about Steph, but it is part of the game. Boys are injured and they go on. Our boys did a great job and scored a great victory, 48 hours after a street victory of game 7.

“It is an amazing group of boys. They compete, they are together, were the best defense of the league since Jimmy trade, and that keeps us alive.”

Curry suffered the injury at the beginning of the second quarter and was quickly excluded against the Timberwolves for the rest of the Warrior's final 99-88 win.

Kerr stopped Curry every day, but the MRI will determine the true extent of the injury.

With the quick turnaround for game 2 on Thursday, Kerr doesn't expect curry to play.

“We are definitely the player so that he is not available on Thursday, but we don't know yet,” said Kerr. “But with a knee tendon it is difficult to imagine that he will play on Thursday.”

Curry didn't speak to reporters after the game on Tuesday, but when he left the changing room for the team bus, he had a noticeable lag.

The Warriors stolen game 1 without a curry for most of the competition, and they could be for at least one game without their leader, if not more.

Golden State could be able to get out Minnesota with curry, but his NBA title hopes that four-time champion, which will return at some point during the playoffs.
