The Golden State Warriors suffered a potentially great blow in game 1 of their second round against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Stephen Curry left game 1 in the second quarter and did not return with a tense left armpit. Warriors trainer Steve Kerr said Curry would undergo an MRI on Wednesday to determine the severity of the stress. There is currently no clear timeline when he returned, but Kerr noticed that it is unlikely that Curry would play in Game 2 on Thursday evening.

“We are definitely game planning so that it is not available on Thursday, but we don't know yet,” said Kerr. “With a knee tendon, it is difficult to imagine that he would play on Thursday.”

Curry started a quick start with 13 points in his first 13 minutes in a game that the Warriors won with 11 points. After Curry had hit a 3 at one end, he seemed to suffer the injury at the defensive end. He managed to stay in the game and to drink another shot on Golden State's Next trip, but then he asked the game and went straight into the changing room with a noticeable limp.

Here is a look at what happened:

“I spoke to him at half -time. He was obviously depressed,” said Kerr about Curry after victory 1. “The boys picked him up and played a great game. And obviously we are all worried about Steph, but it is part of the game. Boys are injured, they continue. Our boys did a great job and have a great victory 48 hours after a game victory of game 7.

A big factor here: There is only one day of rest between every game in game 5 of this series, so that even a one -week absence can possibly lead to curry through game 4. Three days of free days are planned in the series between game 5 (May 14) and game 6 (May 18).

Even 1-0, the Warriors are still outsiders (+126 to win the series in Fanduel against the wolves, with Curry's health in the air. You will hope for good news, but this was your sixth game in 11 days after a skirt fight of a seven game series in the first round with the Houston Rockets. The rockets were extremely physical with curry. add up.

It sounds like we know more about Curry's status for game 2 and beyond Wednesday.
