Hopewell, va. (Wwbt) – Carjacking, a double stitch, three shootings, a murder and a death examination. Hopewell Police only saw that last week.

The department has published the details of each incident on its Facebook page. Some of them said:

“We recognize the concerns of these incidents and are still committed to transparency, quick reaction and security of the community.”

The local van Johnson grew up in Hopewell and said he didn't feel as safe as before. He only noticed an increase in crime in the past five years.

“Everyone has weapons now,” he said.

Kayla Walker has puppies in the city center, a dog salon and a daycare center.

She said they walk through the area every day and rarely have problems.

“We have arrived a few encounters into the business that roars the problems with mental health, scream, people with mental health, but we call the police without emergency, they come down here. Take care of it. But nothing too scary or crazy,” said Walker.

However, she said that the city has built up a call of violence in recent years, which it does not represent for the entire city.

“This is scary for the fact that it has a small company, it can really hinder our business,” she said.

She said she had to find ways to get her customers to the city for her appointments.

“We tell you all the time, if you are not comfortable, we'll get the dogs for you. We will come out there, pick them up when you arrive, we take your card on the phone and we bring the dogs to the car,” she said.

The police noticed that they made an arrest in every crime last week.

The mayor of Hopewell, John Partin, sent the following explanation to 12 on her side:

“The city is still obliged to speak aggressively with violent crime through proactive police work and strong community partnerships. Our approach is data -driven, community -oriented and technology. We will continue to use herd security and cadae camera systems in order to act as a violent multiplicator for our civil servants. A violent week.
