Father, who was convicted of 12-year-old Gavin Peterson in West Haven

Ogden, Utah, May 7, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) -Shan Peterson, the father of 12-year-old Gavin Peterson, who died in July 2024 West Haven-Junge, who died of a longer pattern of child abuse, including severe malnutrition, was sentenced to life in prison for five years. Add the successive sentences for four further charges for which he was convicted, and Peterson could spend the rest of his life behind bars.

The 47-year-old Peterson was instructed on Tuesday by the judge of the second district court Camille Neider to earn a term of five years for the life of the first degree life consumption abuse. She also condemned him for a three -separated severe charges for child abuse and a term from zero to five years for the endangerment of a child, a third degree.

Peterson guilty of all five charges in March.

Peterson's wife Nichole Lea Scott, 51, who is Gavin's stepmother, and his adult son Tyler Shane Peterson (22), who is Gavin's older brother, also owed his roles at the child's death.

Scott is planned for the conviction on May 12th.

Tyler, who is guilty of being charged because of a mental illness and now lives with family members, will have a judicial review of his status on May 22nd.

Gavin Peterson died on July 9, 2024. An investigation of his death resulted in an abuse pattern that shocked the community.

In probable causes, which were submitted according to his family members, stated that he was “malnourished and a saturated diaper was worn”, together with “emergency”, the “detailed blows” and “food to a third water and a piece of bread with mustard”.

Court documents also said that the child was sick for a few days before his death and experienced vomiting and seizures, but was not brought to a doctor. “

During the conviction on Tuesday, extended family members and judges Neider fought to maintain their serenity.

“I agree that you should receive the maximum rate,” said Neider and spoke to Peterson. “I also find it meaningful that I am more emotional than you.”
