Stephen Curry is likely to be from game 2 against Timberwolves after the injury, says Steve Kerr

The Golden State Warriors opened their playoff series of the second round on Tuesday evening with a self-confident 99-88 victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves-but victory was very afraid when Stephen Curry left the game with a violation of the left thighs early.

The two -time MVP and the face of the franchise left in the second quarter after scoring 13 points in just 13 minutes. Curry was seen as he set his knee tendon and went straight into the changing room and threw a shadow about a promising start for the Warriors.

After the game, head coach Steve Kerr offered a careful update.

“Only every day. We'll get an MRI tomorrow,” said Kerr. “I spoke to him at half -time – he was obviously depressed. But the boys lifted him and played a great game.”

Kerr suggested that the team is already preparing for game 2 without their Star Guard.

“We definitely have a game planning for him in order not to be available on Thursday,” he admitted. “With a knee tendon, it is difficult to imagine that he would play.”

Curry's potential absence is a considerable blow for the warriors, who have been strongly based on his leadership and achieved in the playoffs. In the first round, he scored an average of 24 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.7 assists and remains the emotional core of the team.

Although the Warriors Curry had lost midgame, they reacted with grit and depth. Draymond Green took over and delivered 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists.

Buddy Hield led all the scorers with 24 points and nailed a crucial three pointer in the fourth quarter to get a Timberwolves comeback test. Jimmy Butler added 20 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists in a rounded, experienced performance.

Game 2 is set for May 8th. While the warriors have proven that they can survive a night without a curry, the result of the MRI could define the rest of their post -season.
