Iraqi cancer drug scandal: Top Libyan health officers detained

The public prosecutor's office of Shafaq News/ Libya, on Wednesday, instructed the state's health minister and several high -ranking civil servants about irregularities in the import of cancer medication from Iraq.

In a statement, the general prosecutor's office revealed that in addition to the minister, the prisoners of the director of the pharmacy department, the chairman of the General Tender Committee, belong to a central procurement officer and a representative of an import company.

“The investigators discovered that the medication was imported without legal and technical approvals or coordination with the National Anti Cancer Authority,” added. “This represents a violation of public procurement rules.”
