Nawrocki White House Visit emphasizes the critical relationship between Poland and the USA

In the final phase of the American presidential campaign of the past year, both candidates made the Polish -American community, especially in the critical state of Pennsylvania. The idea was imaginative how it argued in it Hungarian conservative Pieces from this time, but the enormous campaign machines were not inclined to leave a stone unturned.

A few months later, the reverse scenario is exhibited, since the Polish presidential candidates have some of the same Polish American voters and in the case of Dr. Karol Nawrocki's campaign of the new administration in Washington.

On May 1st, Nawrocki took part in an event that was reminiscent of the national prayer day in the White House and met President Trump. 'Great meeting with @potus. It was an honor to discuss the brilliant future of relationships between Poland and the US, ”the candidate wrote about X.

Nawrocki also met with Foreign Minister Marco Rubio, the spokesman for the House of Representatives Mike Johnson, the secretary for health and human services Robert F. Kennedy Jr., chief of staff of the White House, Susie Wiles, and representative Jim Jordan. Two days later, Nawrocki visited various Polish -American celebrations in Chicago to commemorate the constitution of Poland on May 3, 1791.

The meeting with President Trump was unusual for a non -unanimous candidate who was actively looking for an office. The visit “can be seen as a kind of confirmation,” said Dr. Jarosław Szczepański, a professor who specializes in politics and American politics at the University of Warsaw. “This can be interpreted as support, since the US administration that Nawrocki could be a continuation of Andrzej Duda's presidency, supports him as much as the diplomatic protocol allows.”

In fact, the relationship between the outgoing President Duda and President Trump was warm. Polish media figures even suspected whether Duda contributed to arranging Nawrocki's visit. In particular, the speculation focused on the funeral of Pope Francis on April 26, when Duda and Trump sat near each other and the two were photographed to exchange hugs and a few friendly words.

“The relationship between the outgoing President Duda and President Trump was warm”

“During the conversation, the topic of the presidential elections with reference to the current President Duda, who is a friend of President Trump, appeared,” said Nawrocki. “It is clear that this relationship is important for President Trump.”

The candidate also enjoyed some of the US president's trademark. “President Trump said:” You will win ” [expression in English]. I have interpreted this as a kind of success for success in the upcoming elections. '

The commentators, who were sympathetic to Prime Minister Donald Tusk and the mayor of Warsaw and the Nawrocki opponent Rafał Trzaswski, predicted the visit.

“Apparently PIS has no problem with budget subsidies today, since a photo with Trump certainly costs money” [a reference to the government’s controversial withholding of election funds from the main opposition party, PiS]. “Trump doesn't do anything for free.”

Another widespread complaint from the government camp was the foreigners in the Polish elections. »After the clear support of the United States for Karol Nawrocki, there was a lot of noise from [Tusk and Trzaskowski’s party] Po ', Pis Mep Preatryk Jaki wrote. “The funniest is, however, as you say that” external forces should not disturb our elections “. You? 'The Americans know exactly that Po is a pro-German party,” he added.

In the government's circles, their foreign support selectively advertise, but the widespread support of the Tusk coalition (and in the broader sense of Trzaskowski) among western liberal institutions is generally understood in the Polish political field.

Trzaskowski strengthened this brand identity with a recent contribution in which he wrote “Polish” [sic] In all letters with a lower case, while activating 'British', 'German' and 'NATO'. “In Lower Case” Polish “,” German “and” British “in Upper-Case” wrote the conservative political commentator and Duda Ally Paweł Rybicki. “The most concise summary of WHO Trzaskowski is.”

“In Lower Case” Polish “,” German “and” British “in upper cases … the most concise summary by Who Trzaswski is”

The government camp has not fully written off the dialogue with the Polish community. Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, who lost the internal fight against Trzaskowski for the nomination of the president, conjured up a smile on May 2 for a video greeting that goes beyond the borders of the country. It was a subtle allusion to the relationships between Poland and the US that the Tusk government has to struggle.

As in violent controversial campaigns, however, the company's fighting command in the company's slaughter commands is equipped with its share of blunt violence. The Nawrocki campaign has recently made headlines with a public confirmation by President Duda and the meeting with President Trump, and Trzaskowski allies have reacted with what the Americans call the “surprise in October” (US funds, including presidential elections, take place at the beginning of November).

Political media and politicians of the government have confiscated the assertion of a journalist to maintain Nawrocki, who achieved an inappropriate advantages of an apartment that he has in GDIKT. His spokeswoman has accused the state security services of a “dirty campaign” to discredit him.

For President Trump and Polish -American allies, the episode will certainly remember the last week of the American presidential campaign of the past year, when corporate media desperately promoted that a comedian joke via Puerto Rico would sink at a rally Trump's candidacy.

Perhaps Prime Minister Tusk, who has been working in politics for a long time, has a similar conclusion. According to News Outlet WProstA conversation partner asked what he would do if Trzaskowski loses. “I will make it,” said the Prime Minister reported.
