Old video with which the Nigerian customs officials intercepted weapons smuggled in April 2025

Nigeria has associated with a high degree of uncertainty, including municipal clashes and bandits that were associated with the spread of weapons that were smuggled into the country. The video was published elsewhere on Facebook, Instagram and X in a similar context.

The Nigeria Customs Service is a border security authority that facilitates international trade, against which laws are against difficulties and imposes tasks and tariffs.

2024 weapon attack

AFP Factcheck carried out a reverse image search for keyframes from the video and the results showed that it was carried out last year.

The clip was published on June 25, 2024 on the Facebook account of the Port Harcourt Office of Local Sender Classic FM (archived here).

Other search queries led to another video that was published on July 6, 2024 on the official Facebook account of the Nigeria Customs Service and unveiled the content of the confiscated container (archived here).
