A woman from Brookfield suffered minor injuries on Tuesday afternoon in an accident with two vehicles on Highway 36 in Chillicothe.

The accident occurred on Monday, May 6, 2025, at 1:57 p.m. on 610 West Old Highway 36. The authorities said a Ford Taurus from 2011, which was driven by an 87-year-old woman from Chillicothe, drove south when he did not move south, and hit a Ford Explorer who drove east.

After the impact, the Ford Explorer turned away from the north side of the street, where he met a ditch, a supply stick and a sign before he came to the west for the break. The Ford Taurus crossed the center line and stopped north on the western trace of Highway 36.

The driver of the Ford Explorer, a 49-year-old woman from Brookfield, wore a seat belt and suffered minor injuries. It was transported by Chillicothe Ems for treatment to the Hedrick Medical Center.

Both vehicles were towed out of the scene. The Ford Explorer suffered extensive damage while the Ford Taurus suffered minor damage.

The crash was examined by the Missouri State Highway Patrol with the support of the Chillicothe Police Department, the Livingston County Sheriff's Department and the Chillicothe Fire Department.
