As a result of the Donald Trump -Reality -TV show on Tuesday, the President of the United States “a very big announcement … How much as possible”.

“I will not tell you what, but it's … very positive,” he said reporters in the Oval Office. “It will be one of the most important announcements that have been made on a certain topic, a very important topic for many years.”

He initially indicated that it could be a trade agreement, but also said that this could possibly be not be a trade agreement. Trump later said at a Milken Institute Event: “It's not about trade … It will be a really earth bulb and positive development for this country.”

So no trade agreement. But it's big. And it will come soon. This Thursday or Friday. Or Monday, said Trump.

It was difficult not to laugh when Trump, who hosted the newly elected and exceptionally coupled Canadian Prime Minister, was returned to his network TV roots with the presidential equivalent of a teas before the advertising break: Stay tuned, America – what happens next will knock you around!

All of this is part of the Trump show and his advisors gained weight last month. Trust us, business come. Trust us, this economic pain is for your own well -being. Trust us, your children don't need as many toys as you believe. Trust us (a few ex-bankers and a bankrotes casino mogul), the opinion of Wall Street does not matter.

Trust. Us.

This will be a more difficult sale every day.

The White House has produced overall *Check notes* Zero trade agreement or even concepts of a trade agreement per month since Trump's tariff regime was available. Trump also seems to have lied to get a call from XI Jinping, China's President, about trade negotiations – Finance Minister Scott Bessent said on Tuesday that no such talks had started. (Update: On Tuesday evening, the officials said that Bessent and the US trade representative would meet their Chinese colleagues this week during a trip to Switzerland.) Trump announced a vague plan for 100% tariffs for films that were produced in overseas – potentially a new front in his trade war, which has so far been limited to the exchange of goods.

So it is no surprise that the company is not particularly trusting at the moment.

While Trump and Co. are waiting for the world to bend their knees, the rest of the world has to make business eyelets.

Many US importers simply canceled the programs from China instead of paying the 145% tariffs that Trump imposes most Chinese imports. The freight, which comes from China in the port of Los Angeles, has fallen by half, which means that buyers can expect a lack of certain articles and higher prices in a few weeks.

This means that it probably only takes a question of weeks for consumers to be exposed to higher prices and lack of certain objects.

While the days attract themselves without relieving the effects of tariffs the effects of tariffs, it is worthwhile to face whether the chief bearer actually wanted trade agreements or just the spectacle of the hardball with mighty state and titans in industry.

During his meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on Tuesday, Trump said that he could sign a few dozen deals at any time and wished that everyone would only relax with all the conversations.

“I wish they would … you know, stop asking: 'How many offers do you sign this week?' Because one day we come and give you 100 offers.

In other words, you know that I told you that I was the best – about this thing that I supposedly wrote a book about? Yes, don't worry about it. The offers will come, or they won't do it, and it will be the fault of everyone else if they do not come together.

In another meaningful moment, a reporter asked whether the Canadian leader could say on Tuesday that Trump would persuade to reduce the tariffs to Canadian goods.

“No,” said Trump.

“Why not?” Asked the reporter.

“The way it is.”

Of course it is not The way it is – it is a decision that Trump has made, which is based on the wrong conviction that the United States has become the victim of the exploitative trading practices of Canada. (Yes, Canada! The nicest neighbors in the world.)

The reality is that the United States and Canada have had an advantageous trade relationship for both sides for decades. The reality is that our trade deficit with Canada is relatively tiny. The reality is that the American auto industry Trump, which claims to support, depends deeply on the free border of border with Canada and Mexico.

This is the same reality in which the US economy contracts and America's credibility as the cornerstone of global financing is shaken.

It is not the same reality as the TV show Variety Trump seems to live.
