Xbox Handheld Pic Lecks in new photos of cooperation with Asus

The original Asus Rog Ally (Asus)

Photos from the upcoming ASUS handheld cooperation from Xbox were taken, which is expected to be released later this year.

Microsoft has been teasing plans for two separate handhelds for some time, with one device of the next generation and the other a collaboration of third -party providers.

Based on a teaser trailer from the last month, the latter seems to be a team with Asus who launched its own handheld play equipment in 2023.

The cooperation of the company with Xbox, Codenamed Project Kennan, has apparently leaked through a list of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the USA.

As reported by VideoCardz, the pictures show two variants of the upcoming Asus Rog Ally 2. The white version looks like the standard version of the handheld, while the black version is the Xbox device, also known as Kennan.

There is not much to distinguish the two systems on the surface -very dusty external aside -but a button on the upper left side of the black device seems to show a dedicated Xbox button (a color is missing, but you can only see the outline of 'X'). The same button is also on the white version, although it does not seem to have the same Xbox marking.

According to the leaked list, the black Xbox model will be more powerful than its white counterpart. The former should use the Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor with 8 cores and 36W TDP (thermal design -power), while the white AMD Aeiirth Plus model uses with 4 cores and 20 W TDP.

It is unclear whether the Xbox version has a dedicated operating system or whether it simply has better integration into the Xbox -app via Windows. In view of the fact that Microsoft works on another handheld that is a few years away, this is probably only intended as a stop-gap solution for testing the market.

Interestingly, Microsoft recently made a new “Xbox PC” brand as part of its unveiling for Gears of War: Reloaded. It is possible that this ASUS device could fit in this nickname.

However, do not expect this to be cheap. The original ASUS ROG ally costs around £ 599 in the official business, and according to the recent price increases by Microsoft Due to US tariffs, this device will probably burn a considerable hole in your wallet.

Apart from the price, the big question is when this handheld is officially shown. Microsoft has an Xbox Summer Showcase on June 8, but given the fact that this is primarily an ASUS device, it can be debut instead on May 20, 2025 at the Computex 2025 fair.
