A homeowner of Virginia is said to have shot a three-sports high school athlete after the teenager and two friends had hit the rifle door early Saturday, the authorities said.

The 27-year-old Tyler Chase Butler was charged on Tuesday

Butler claimed to detectives that a trio of teenagers tried to break into his house, but the wounded teenager insisted that they would only record a prank that would later be shared on Tikok, according to the police documents preserved by local outlets.

The boy, who suffered a grazing wound, said the group searching for a place where one was looking for hiding, the Fredericksburg Free Lance Star reported as a series of shots.

The third teenager, who was not damaged, also informed the police that they played “Ding Dong Ditch” – this included the knocking or ringing of a front door and then the run for it, NBC 4 Washington reported.

Bosworth was a senior of the Massaponax High School, who played lacrosse and football and was also in the wrestling team, said his stepfather NBC 4 Washington.

The victim was shot down on the same day as his high school high school, which was later planned in the evening.

Butler is charged with a second degree murder, malicious wound and two charges of a firearm in the inspection of a crime, said the Sheriff's office.

He is recorded in the regional prison of Rappahannock under No Bond.
