The upcoming college drama shows Kame by A-listeners like Charli XCX

The new College drama from Prime Video promises to be “wild” and “chaotic”.

Overcompensing was created by Benito Skinner by Social Media Sensation and was produced by an impressive team, including the comedy giant Jonah Hill. It plays Skinner as a Benny, a completed football player who is overcompensating to put himself in.

The Synopsis teases: “Overcompensing is a comedy comedy of college set ensemble about the wild, chaotic journey of Benny, a closed former football player and homecoming king, when he quickly makes friends with Carmen, a high-school outsider that adapts at all costs.

“With the guidance of Benny's older sister and her campus-big friend Benny and Carmen juggling terrible connections, seasoned vodka and fake ID cards. Deeply funny and personal, the show examines the lengths with which we all overcompensate while we find out on the way who we really are.”

Publication date

All eight episodes of overcompenating will be published in Prime Video on Thursday, May 15th.

Skinner wrote seven episodes, often in cooperation with the MADTV author Scott King. The actress and writer Mitra Jouhari, known for Netflix 'Big Mund, wrote an episode in the series.

Occupation and prominent cameos

Skinner leads the line -up as Benny, with Wally Baram (shrinking) playing his close friend Carmen.

Mary Beth Barone by Black Mirror plays Benny's older sister Grace, while the White Lotus star Adam Dimarco portrays her friend Peter. The broader line -up shows Rish Shah (Ms. Marvel), Corton Moore (from) and Owen Thiele (Hacks).

In addition to the main embankment, the spectators can also look forward to A-List-Kamen, including Megan Fox, who takes place in four episodes.

The live star of Saturday Night Live, Bowen Yang, also appears in two episodes, with pop singer Kaia Gerber appearing in three episodes. Perhaps the largest cameo in the series is the Grammy Price Player Charli XCX, which also acts as an executive music producer of the show.

The new trailer, which was released on April 29, sent fans wildly on social media. The two -minute clip sees Benny, who deals with his sexuality, how he confesses: “I don't really know what I am.”

The spectators have already been moved by the teaser, and many admit that they feel “seen” by the main character.

One person replied to the trailer in the YouTube comments and wrote: “As a gay man who was in the closet through the high school (for fear of discrimination) and then (again) interviewed in the entire college, I felt less alone in this inner struggle.

“I feel seen that I can't express. Thank you, Benito Skinner … I'll watch.”

In the meantime, a second expressed her excitement and wrote: “I'm so excited for this series !!!!”
