New statistics show violent crimes in Miami, Miami-Dade

MIAMI -Zwei major law enforcement authorities in Südflorida have reported a decline in violent crimes in their patrol areas, according to the newly published statistics.

The report by the Major Cities Chiefs Association shows that in the first quarter of 2025 it is part of a nationwide trend in reduced violent crimes compared to the first quarter of 2024.

The two agencies in South Florida, which report crime waste, are the police authority in Miami and the Sheriff's Miami-Dade, which together with Cutler Bay, Palmetto Bay and Miami Lakes patrolled legal areas. A spokesman for the agency had no information on Tuesday whether the MDSO statistics included these communities.

In Miami, the murders have dropped from nine to eight compared to the first quarter of 2024, a decrease of 11%. The rape reported has dropped by 51%, robberies have decreased by 21%and tightened attacks by 16%.

In the meantime, MDSO reports a decline in the murders a year compared to the previous year by almost 39%: from 18 to 11. The rapes reported have decreased by 38%, robberies have decreased by 21% and tightened attacks have decreased by almost 16%.

Nationally, the murders of 20%decreased among the big city agencies, which reported data, the rapes decreased by 14%, robberies of robbery went by almost 20%and tightened attacks by 11%.

“In total, US authorities have recorded a steep decline in violent crimes compared to the same time last year,” said Laura Cooper, Executive Director of the MCCA. “Compared to pre -Pandemic levels in 2019, all categories (except) have decreased (except) that rose by 1.3% in the United States.”

No further law enforcement authorities were admitted to the report in South Florida. Tampa also recorded a decline in violent crime, as well as Jacksonville, apart from Homcides, which were one by one – about 6% – compared to the previous year.

Suffolk County, New York, include Suffolk, on Long Island; Fort Worth, Texas; Kansas City, Missouri; Baltimore County, Maryland; Houston and areas of Los Angeles County, California, patrolled from the Sheriff's office. In Los Angeles, however, a decline in the murders of 38% was recorded.
