Deadly Augusta Crash closes part of the Mike Padgett Highway

Augusta, Ga. (WRDW/dares) – According to the Sheriff office of the Richmond County, one person died in Augusta after an accident.

The Sheriff of Richmond County's office says that the accident had taken place on the 3700 block of the Mike Padgett Highway.

The driver of a vehicle died at the scene of the crime and the driver of the second vehicle was taken to the hospital, according to MPs.

The forensic doctor's office says the victim was declared dead on Wednesday at 7:45 a.m.

The victim's identity is published as soon as the next relative was notified by relatives.

According to MPs, the lanes of the Mike Padgett Highway are closed north from the Tobacco Road.

The sheriff's office is intended to take alternative routes when they travel in the area.

This is the second fatal crash in Augusta this week.

On Monday, The 8-year-old Camden Poole was killed in an accident on peach fruit garden and tobacco roads.
