State police examined a fatal frontal accident on the US route 6 in Central Valley

On May 6, 2025, the New York state police reacted to a report on a serious car accident on the US route 6 in the city of Woodbury, Orange County. The incident included a frontal collision between two vehicles, which led to a death and several injuries.

Preliminary investigations showed that a 2023 Dodge RAM 1500 pickup truck from operated No Rafael VargasHad traveled to the east on the US route 6 when she crossed the double yellow line and headed a Honda Civic Crx in west in the west. The Honda was carried out by companies Samantha Lezinwho died at the scene. Lezin was the only resident of the vehicle.

Traveling behind the Honda was a Jeep Wrangler 2018, which was operated by Kiley Genevieve Metcalfpassenger Anthony A. Bolivar SanchezBoth were unharmed.

The operator of the Dodge Ram, No Rafael Vargassuffered several leg injuries and was brought to the Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown by Kiryas Joel Ems.

Several agencies reacted to the scene to help, including Woodbury Police Department, Woodbury Fire Department, West Point Fire Department, Woodbury EMS and Mobile Life Support Services.

The examination of the cause of the crash has not yet been completed.
