The man who was arrested in the death of the former NHL player Adam Johnson is not charged by the police after investigation

According to NBC News, a man who is involved in the “shocking and deeply disturbing incident” in which the former NHL player Adam Johnson was killed. Johnson died in 2023 after his neck was cut in England during a collision with another hockey player during a game.

The man who was not identified by the police – was arrested after the incident for suspected manschlacht. After an examination, however, the man will not be exposed to charges according to Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), a legal authority in England.

“The police from CPS and South Yorkshire worked closely to determine whether criminal charges should be raised against the other ice hockey player involved,” said Crown Michael Quinn's deputy prosecutor.

“After a thorough police investigation and a comprehensive review of all evidence of the CPS, we came to the conclusion that there is no realistic view of a conviction about a criminal offense, and there will therefore be no law enforcement. Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Adam Johnson.”

Johnson – a member of the Nottingham Panthers – was killed in October 2023 during a game against the Sheffield Steelers. While dealing with the Puck, Johnson was involved in a collision after a player worked on the Steelers with a teammate from Johnson. When the player fell on the Steelers, his leg increased, which caused the blade of his skate to hit Johnson's throat.

Johnson was taken to a local hospital where he was declared dead. He was 29.

After Johnson's death, the English ice hockey association demanded all players in England to wear neck guards from 2024.

Before Johnson came to the Panthers, Johnson spent two seasons in the NHL with the Pittsburgh Penguins. In these two years he played with the team in 13 games and ended his NHL career with a goal and three templates.

After his time with the penguins, Johnson played in Sweden, Ontario and Germany before he came to the Nottingham Panthers in 2023.
