Akron football for the post -season due to the academic progress rate not justified

The Akron football team will not be approved this season due to the multi -year academic progress tariff for the post -season game.

This week, the NCAA has updated its national APR database with the latest reviews of member institutions. Akron had a score of 914, below the minimum of 930 for the post -season authorization.

The Sports department of Akron did not comment on his APR penalty and did not return any messages left immediately by the Associated Press.

Akron, which plays on the mid-American Conference, has not been in a Bowl game since 2017, which last time the zippers won more than four games in one season.

But Akrons 4: 8 record in 2024 under the third year, Joe Moorhead, since the publication of the same brand in 2018, the zippers were not more than two games in one season and went in 2019 in 2019.

The Football Bowl soccer team of Division I Football Bowl was excluded from the post -season due to the APR results in the 2014 season.

The NCAA temporarily stopped some APR penalties, including the post-season bans, due to the Covid 19 pandemic, which began to disturb college athletics in spring 2020.

However, the NCAA committee for academics voted for the restoration of such punishments, which were published in the academic year 2024-25 at the age of four.
