FCC -Lob shows Asus Rog Ally 2 Handheld with an Xbox button

For months we have had insights into a new model of the ASUS handheld -gaming -PCs about both leaks and official necks. The latest comes from the US FCC, which apparently has two versions of the “Rog Ally 2” device. You are white and – if clearly different – follow the original design language. One is black and has an Xbox button.

Okay, that's a bit dramatic. More specifically, both white and black versions of the apparently larger, chunky handheld have an additional button over the D pad. It is only that the black seems to have an Xbox logo, as well as the official controllers from Microsoft and others for decades. That would make sense in the context of this teaser trailer, which ASUS published both with ROG and Xbox Branding, not to mention industry rumbling of a more definitive xbox branded handheld. And don't forget, Microsoft is hard for the people that the Xbox platform goes beyond the console hardware.

A list from Indonesia was apparently associated with an FCC registration from Twitter/X user Huang514613, which has consistently leaked through other hardware. I cannot independently confirm that it is FCC regulation photos, but they certainly correspond to the documentation style of the agency, which I have been observing for over a decade.

Further details can also come from the photos, as the verge reports. The most striking difference compared to the original ROG allies and Ally X, which largely raised on the steam deck, are the new handles. They are more defined and controlled and extend a little of the main body and are clearly intended for the comfort for additional long -term sessions. This would not be the first handheld -gaming PC with different grip inserts, but it would be the first among the most important PC manufacturers.

Zooming in the photos shows a few more delicacies. Based on the rear sticker that is attached at the back, it looks as if the device had the same 7-inch 12th Hz screen as the previous designs (1920 × 1080, if this applies) and at least one version has 32 GB RAM. VideoCardz.com claims that the black model with an 8-core 36 watt processor is classified as an impressive 64 GB RAM as AMD Ryzen-Z2 extrem. It would probably be different from the similarly branded Ryzen Z2 in Lenovo's newest handheld. Note that an integrated graphics system has to share the memory between the usual Windows tasks and the GPU. This could make this thing a portable power package.

The two models identified by the stickers – RX73XA (black) and RC73YA (white) – correspond to a list of the Korean RRA certification authority. Listings at FCC and other supervisory authorities indicate certification tests and are not necessarily a 100 percent guarantee for a retail publication. At this point I would say that these devices are far more likely this year that these devices will start. Computex in Taipei is just around the corner.
