How does the NBA design of the lottery work?

During the NBA design lottery, the teams who own 1-14 assigned a four-digit number combination to be determined where they select on the design night.

Each team is assigned a certain number of combinations that match their chances of winning.

The lottery process takes place four times to determine the four best picks. After that, the selection 5 to 14 non-lotteries are assigned from the worst to the best according to their regular season record.

The Wizards from Utah Jazz, Washington and Charlotte Hornets had the three worst records in the NBA this season and have a 14 percent chance to achieve the top outline.

The three teams each have a chance of 52.1 percent to make one of the four best selections, and a 47.9 percent chance of falling on the fifth choice or lower.

Since the lottery only determines the four best selections, the teams cannot fall more than four positions under the positioning at the end of the season.

Thus, the jazz of the league cannot fall more than the fifth, the magicians can no longer fall than the sixth, the hornets can no longer fall as the seventh and so on.

The actual NBA design will take place from June 25th to 26th in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
