High School Lacrosse Tazing Skandal Sparks Psychological Health Problems

Syracuse, NY (WRGB) – The Lacrosse team of the Westhill High School is at the center of a harassment scandal that has attracted national attention, since eleven team members have been in the accusations of a fake kidnapping incident.

The prosecutors claim that at least one younger teammate was tied up, placed a pillow cover over their heads and put in the trunk of a car. The police reported that weapons were used and probably intimidating the high school.

Aaron Cahill, the head coach of the team in the first year and a graduate of the Guilderland High School, confirmed that the coaching team had no previous knowledge of the incident and worked completely with the examination.

The scandal has triggered a more comprehensive conversation about the effects of harassment on the students who correspond to the national month of the consciousness for mental health.

The Gordie Center of the University of Virginia found that 41% symptoms of depression report under the hooks, with over half of which were classified as “serious” and reports 34% symptoms of an anxiety disorder.

Susie Bruce, director of the Gordie Center, emphasized the potential negative negative consequences of the mental health of harassment. “Even with someone who has no diagnostic concerns, we know that a single, really traumatic event can be weakening,” said Bruce. “As adults as a family member as a trainer, we have to be aware of what Tating is, and ensure that these students hire more positive aspects of team culture, team loyalty.”

The Gordie Center offers free resources, including a prevention toolkit and videos on YouTube, so that parents can help to discuss the complaint with their children and what to do if they are affected by such situations.
