Brittney Griner is trendy after the Decking WNBA rookie

After eleven seasons with the Phoenix Mercury, who won a WNBA championship in 2014, Brittney Griner decided to bring her talents into the dream of Atlanta in the low season.

Griner, a 6-foot 9 center from Baylor, signed a one-year contract with Atlanta at the end of January. The decision was made in the light of the future Hall of Fama Taurasi from basketball.

“I could find out where I wanted to go,” said Griner. “And frankly, what led me to this decision was the team, the players, as individuals and then also my family.”

On Wednesday morning, Griner made her debut in Atlanta when The Dream defeated the 80-70 of the Washington Mystics when she started in 2025.

With almost four minutes in the first half, Griner set the Mystics Guard Sonia Citron a hard screen and sent the former Notre Dame Battle against the Irish Star to the deck and welcome moment for the rookie.
