Leissner, a former partner of Goldman Sachs, was married to the fashion entrepreneur Kimora Lee Simmons, the former model, which was known for the start of the Baby Phat clothing line and for her earlier marriage to music mogul Russell Simmons.

Leissner and Kimora Lee Simmons married in 2014 and have a son together.

During a court proceedings in the USA in the USA, Leissner admitted to falsifying divorce documents from his former wife Judy Chan to marry Simmons while he was still legally married to Chan.

Leissner also stated in court that one of the paramets with which he had an out -of -marital affair had blackmailed him to buy a house with $ 10 million.

Leissner remains married to Simmons, but the two reports no longer live together.

In 2018, Leisner admitted to receiving between 50 and 60 million US dollars of illegal payments as part of the 1MDB system. According to the US prosecutor

US prosecutors claim that he had contributed to making massive bribes easier for the officials in Malaysia and the Middle East, while serving as a Goldman's point person in the controversial bond transactions of the fund.

He used some of the abused means to support a lavish lifestyle that included luxury properties, expensive gifts and international trips.

The prosecutors say that part of this money was initiated into the accounts controlled by Simmons, which later accused Leissner without having transferred millions to an investment account without their consent.

The conviction of the former banker has been delayed more than ten times since his guilty plea from 2018, and he remains with investigators in the USA.

The scandal not only fell the Malaysia minister at the time, but also led to a global search for the fleeting financier JHO Low, who is accused of orchestrated the elaborate theft.

Between 2012 and 2013, Goldman Sachs had made three bond offers of a total of 6.5 billion US dollars easier for 1MDB.

Instead, a large part of the money was diverted into the hands of deep and others – with the alleged support of Goldman Bankers Leissner and Roger NG.

The investigators claim that over 1.6 billion US dollar bribes to civil servants in Malaysia and the Middle East had been paid out, with almost 700 million US dollars being attributed to the personal report on Malaysias Prime Minister, which was subsequently convicted of corruption.

Low, the central figure in the scandal, was notorious because he spent the abused funds for luxury properties, works of art and even the film “The Wolf of Wall Street”.

Malaysia aims to exchange Leisner from the USA in front of a possible move to Germany, its home country, in which delivery becomes much more difficult.

The Malaysian authorities claim that, according to Interpol announcement, Leissner had violated the capital market against local laws and potentially performed a maximum penalty of ten years.

Goldman Sachs suspended Leissner in 2016 and then resigned.

The bank stated that the authorities provide relevant information about Leissner's activities.

In 2020, Goldman achieved an agreement with Malaysia and agreed with a cash payment of 2.5 billion US dollars and insured to receive additional assets of $ 1.4 billion.

However, Leissner and NG were excluded from this agreement.

The current prime minister Malaysias, Anwar Ibrahim, has called for a review of the settlement, which insists on additional compensation from Goldman Sachs.

“Both parties reached a coherent, binding and final settlement almost five years ago,” a Goldman spokesman told the Post.

In the meantime, the Malaysian investigators continue to interview NG, Leisner's former MP, who was convicted of ten years in prison for his participation.

NG cooperates with the authorities in Malaysia and has delivered new insights into Leissner's actions and Goldman's role in the scandal.

The Ministry of Justice assumes that Malaysia will finally return NG after completing the domestic court proceedings in order to serve his prison sentence in the United States.
