Kristapaps Porzingis, SAM Hauser injuries for Celtics-Knicks Game 2-NBC Sports Boston

The Boston Celtics achieved mixed results in the second playoff series on Tuesday in the second round against the New York Knicks.

The Big Man Kristaps Porzingis (not Covid disease) was probably upgraded from game 2 on Wednesday evening in the TD Garden, while striker Sam Hauser (right ankle flush) was downgraded from dubious to out.

The availability of Porzingis is a great message for the Celtics after leaving the first game 1 at the beginning of the second quarter due to an illness. The 29-year-old became goalless in 13 minutes and did not look like him before he went into the changing room for the rest of the first half.

While the nature of the Porzingi's illness is unclear, head coach Joe Mazzulla suggested on Tuesday that the viral disease could be related, which led to porzingis missed eight games in a row at the end of February and early March.

“Since he came back, he thinks that he has made it possible for the best to deal with and from dealing with the contest,” said Mazzulla about porzingis.

Porzingis has aggressively struggling in the 2025 playoffs and shot 32.8 percent from the ground and only 11.8 percent 3 points (2 for 17) to six games. He had good luck against the Knicks with an average of 22.4 points per game to his former team since he came to Boston, while doing 50 percent of his 3 points (26 for 52).

If Porzingis can play considerable minutes in the second game on Wednesday when he returns to his shootout, this would be a massive thrust for the offensive of the Celtics.

Hauser was now showering the ankle at the end of the third quarter of game 1 when he closes an OG anunoby 3 pointer. He played just four minutes before his injury, while he missed his two 3-point attempts and achieved an average of only 2.7 points per game in this post.

Game 2 of Celtics-Knicks will be located on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. ET in the TD Garden. The reporting from NBC Sports Boston begins at 6 p.m. Celtics Pregame Live.
