Fans are preparing for the Metallica concert

Blacksburg, va. – The countdown is switched on for fans because Metallica will be the Rocking Lane Stadium on Wednesday evening. But the party started long before the gates opened.

“For me it is a life-long dream to see Metallica,” said a fan with a worn band t-shirt.

Tens of thousands of fans have taken over the land around the Lane Stadium and, like his match day. But instead of helmets and jerseys it is black shirts, jeans and vintage metallica teas.

Some of these shirts came from a pop-up shop in the city center, in which the lines wrapped around the block when the fans breed before the show.

In the stadium everyone hums in a certain song, and this song has of course occurred in Sandman.

The Metallica hit has been echoed through the Lane Stadium for more than two decades and works every autumn as part of Virginia Tech's football tradition. But on Wednesday evening the band will perform it live behind the hymn – on the same field where every game jumps.

“I mean everyone will jump,” said a fan. “I can't wait to see if we can actually create an earthquake.”

Some fans did not stop at Burgern and Cooler. A tailgate turned into a full pre-show concert with instruments and amplifiers.

“I said, 'Hey, just bring the whole setup with',” said an organizer. “You said, 'You don't believe that people will make something out when we play?' And I am like: 'Friends, it's a rock concert.
