Chicago Cubs Score and Summary (7/7/25): Giant 3, Cubs 1

The Cubs and Giants met on Wednesday afternoon in the rubber game of their series on a cool and windy Wrigley field. Chicago was able to get a little going in this with her bats and San Francisco won a game with a low score

Wilmer Flores met an RBI single from Cubs starter Ben Brown to give the Giants a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st. Lamonte Wade Jr. doubled in one run and Christian Koss sang another home to make it 3-0 in the 4.

The northern coil got one of these parts against Robbie Ray in the bottom of the frame when the left field player Heliot Ramos played a popup by Pete Crow-Armstrong in the wind and dropped it for an RBI double. San Francisco had the golden opportunity to play the game with the invited bases and anyone in the 6th, but came empty and the score remained 3: 1.

Chicago has never really carried out a rally rally rally in the last three innings, and the Giants ended a relatively boring victory. ((Box score)))

Key moment

The Cubs received runners in second and third place with two outs with 0: 1 in the 3. Inning with Seiya Suzuki on the plate. Suzuki ruled out to end the threat.

Why the Cubs lost

The crime did almost nothing all afternoon and the Pitching employee gave too many walks.

Statistics that are important

  • It was a real fight for Brown, but he limited the damage: 5 IP, 3 R, 6 H, 9 K, 2 BB.
  • Nico Hoerner had two of the four goals from the Cubs on Wednesday, both doubles.

Conclusion

It was a very quiet game for a very hot crime in Chicago, which will sometimes happen against teams that are as good as the Giants. The Cubs have a difficult series in New York before hopefully using a soft schedule for the rest of the month.

On deck

The Cubs go east to compete against the mets from Friday at 6.10 p.m. CT. Craig Consell has not yet named a starter and New York with Clay Holmes in a competition that is available on the marquee with radio reporting on 670.
