The long -time NBA coach Mike Woodson, who joined Indiana as an assistant, joins King's employees

Woodson has spent decades to train throughout the league. From 2004 to 2010 he spent six seasons as head coach of Atlanta Hawks and was then head coach of New York Knicks from 2011 to 2014 for three years. Woodson set up a record of 315-365 as head coach of the league and also spent time as an assistant at Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers, Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Clipper.

Woodson then spent the last four seasons in Indiana, where he played under Bob Knight. There he set up an 82-53 record and made the NCAA tournament twice, but the Hoosiers fought under his clock and in the last two seasons. This decision was made in the middle of a brutal loss in which the team had lost six of seven games. It marked Woodson's only headjob on College level. Since then, the Hoosiers have hired Darian Devries to replace him.

Woodson, an 11-year-old NBA veteran, will now join Christiees staff in Sacramento. After the kings fired head coach Mike Brown in December. The kings went 27-24 under Christie's clock and made it to the play-in tournament, even though they had lost in the opening round. The team then separated with General Manager Monte McNair and hired Scott Perry to replace him almost immediately

This is Christie's first job as head coach in the league. The 15-year-old veteran joined the Kings employees after working as a color commentator for the Kings at NBC Sports.

Christie and Woodson are now commissioned to run the kings in a sensible playoff run, which the franchise has not seen for decades. They have only been in the playoffs once in the last 19 seasons and they have not won a playoff series since 2004. Christie is the 11th full-time head coach that the team has had since.

While Woodson's run in Indiana did not work well, he is more than proven at the NBA level. Its addition in Sacramento should be a welcome for a franchise that is ready to reset.
