Criminal trenders down in Bossier, says the sheriff's office

Bossier City, La. (KSLA) – On May 7, the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office (BPSO) released updated crime statistics for the non -legal areas of the Bossier Parish until April 30, 2025.

This underlines several promising developments in the landscape of public security of the municipality and strengthens its reputation as one of the safest and fastest growing communities in Louisiana.

Sheriff Julian Whitington wrote proactive police strategies and community partnerships for the positive results.

According to the report, Bossier Parish saw:

• Zero
• Zero robberies
• The index of the violent crime is still stable and shows a modest increase of 3%, which is mainly due to minor rise applications in the event of attack and intimidation cases
• Real estate crimes: 13% decrease
• Car theft: 64% drop
• General theft: 5% down
• Burglary: 29% decline
• Rape reports: a decline in 6%

This forward -oriented strategy has led to the creation of special units for certain criminal threats. These units have the task of identifying children's pain, sex offenders, drunk drivers and drug amplifiers and arrested that reflect a zero tolerance directive towards such crimes. Continuous investigations, surveillance and public relations in the community help prevent crime before it takes place.

Sheriff Whitttington emphasized the proactive attitude of the department when maintaining public security by stating: “We do not wait for crimes to be reported. We will continue to be active and aggressively search for perpetrators before they can harm others. Our citizens await security and we strive to deliver this.”

The Sheriff's office also attributes the participation of the community, the neighborhood observation programs and the improved technology to pursue and prevent criminal activities that continue to invest in the commitment of the community and the preventive enforcement and work hand with the public to protect security and order throughout the community.
