Plan some “Les MIS” power members to boycott Trump's number of visitors to the performance of the Kennedy Center next month

When President Donald Trump increases in Kennedy Performing Arts Center for a high-dollar donation campaign and a performance of “Les Misérables”, he will not see how the usual cast occurs, Sources said CNN.

The sources said at least 10 to 12 artists in Les Mis plan to expose the show on June 11, in the night, in which Trump takes part in the Kennedy Center. The line -up was given the opportunity not to perform the night that Trump will not be in the audience, and both large actors and members of the ensemble are, according to sources, among those who sit outside.

The step underlines the friction between the Trump government and the members in the center, since the president has made an aggressive move to redesign them and to push the artistic complex in Washington, DC based on cultural wars.

The boycott follows Trump's decision to effectively take control of the Kennedy Center as part of a widespread effort that his administration has undertaken to bend the American institutions – including cultural, legal and pedagogical columns – effectively in the will of the president.

Less than a month after his presidency, Trump installed himself replaced by Democratic President thanks to a newly constituted board as chairman of the Kennedy Center, including several new Trump representatives. He also appointed Richard Grenell, a long -time confidante who already worked in several administrative offices in the role of the director.

The same night in which Trump will take part in the performance of Les MIS, he will also hold a fundraiser for the benefit of the Kennedy Center. The fundraising campaign was first reported by ABC News.

“We definitely use the Les MIS opening as an opportunity” to support the center of the center, said a person familiar with the plans.

During his 2016 campaign, Trump used Music by Les Mis during his campaign cups, against which the co -creators of the musical leaned against the Guardian.

In an explanation to CNN, Gennell said, who identified himself as President of the Kennedy Center, he did not know that some actors planned to boycott the performance at night from Trumps and that the Kennedy center “no longer finished intolerance”.

“Every actor who is not professional enough to appear for customers of all backgrounds regardless of political belonging is not welcomed,” said Gennell. “We are of the opinion that it would be important to bring out these vapids and intolerant artists to ensure that the producers should know who should not hire them – and that the public knows which shows have political lacquer tests to sit in the audience. The Kennedy center wants to be a place where people of all political strips sit next to each other and never ask for someone who was chosen for someone.”

CNN turned to a comment to the Kennedy Center, the company, the Les MIS and the union, which represents the actors.

The White House did not respond to a request for comments.

Trump complained about the state of the Kennedy Center both publicly and privately, while Grenell previously claimed that “no money at your disposal, no reserves”.

“No more pulling shows or other anti-American propaganda-only the best,” Trump wrote about the social truth in February. “Ric, welcome, shops to show!”

Artists such as ISSA Rae, Shonda Rhimes and Ben Folds have resigned from their leadership roles or canceled events in the room in response to the changes, while the center canceled the services, including the tour of the children's musical “Finn”.

A spokesman for the Kennedy Center told CNN: “Finn”, which has not yet been announced, was canceled for financial reasons before changing the Kennedy Center. The authors were also notified before the change. ”

“Finn” was commissioned by the Kennedy Center in 2023. In February, one of the cupboards of the show, Michael Kooman, the Washington Post, said before the board met to change the management of the Kennedy Center, the “Finn” creative team received a call from the middle that the tour was canceled because “the financial funding did not work,” said Kooman.

“It is difficult to ignore the circumstances under which the tour of the tour takes place,” he added.

Top -class shows such as “Hamilton”, who, after Trump's takeover, has now scraped the Kennedy Center.

During a visit to the center in March, Trump criticized Hamilton, the HIT musical written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, which was a modern narrative of the country's foundation through the eyes of Alexander Hamilton, including a multi-ethnic line-up.

“I never liked Hamilton very much,” said Trump reporters.

“But we will have some really good shows,” added Trump. “I would say that, come here and see it, and you will see over time that it will improve very much. And we will get some very good shows. What is going well are Broadway -Hits.”
