1 dead, 3 injured by accident with two vehicles on the US route 13 in Somerset County

Eden, Md. – Maryland State Police examines a fatal crash in which two vehicles took place in Somerset County shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

The soldiers reacted to the scene at the intersection of Ocean Highway (US Route 13) and the Flower Hill Church Road, where a Kia soul was hit by a jeep while trying to cross the lanes south, the authorities said.

The driver of the Kia, a 72-year-old woman, was declared dead at the crime scene. Two passengers in the Kia were injured – one was flown to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore and the other was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance. The driver of the jeep was also hospitalized with injuries.

All lanes towards the south of the US route 13 remain closed because the administration of the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway helps with traffic control. The cause of the crash remains examined.
