The Akron Zips football program is not entitled to play in the classroom for the post -season due to poor grades in the next season.

The multi-year value of the program's academic progress is 914, which is below the minimum quantity for the post-season according to the NCAA rules.

The management committee has updated its national APR database with the latest points, and Akron will not be happy that it cannot play in any Bowl games, even if it qualifies.

The mid-American Conference squad has not played in a Bowl game since 2017. The last time the program won more than four games in one season.

It was difficult for the zippers in the last seasons. Since they went 7-7 in 2017, they had no season better than 4-8, including the 2024 campaign.

They went in 2019 0-12 before they went 1-5 in 2020 and ended three in a row from 2021-23 2-10.

Idaho was the last team in Division I -FBS for the post -season due to APR results in 2014.
