Thunder-Nba Playoff record for points in the first half with 87 against Denver in game 2 of West Semis

Oklahoma City (AP) -The Oklahoma City Thunder presented an NBA playoff record for the first semi-finals with 87 against the Denver Nuggets in game 2 of her Western Conference semi-final on Wednesday.

Oklahoma City exceeded the previous record of 86 from the Cleveland Cavaliers against the Golden State Warriors in game 4 of the NBA final on June 9, 2017. Chet Holmgren, who missed two critical free throws late in game 1, made a couple with a second rest to set up the record.

The thunder tied the record for points in half a playoff game. Milwaukee had 87 against Denver on April 23, 1978 in the second half.

The Thunder scored 58.8% out of the field and turned 17 out of 18 free throws to make a lead of 87-56 during the break. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander carried the way with 18 points. All five Thunder starters scored in two figures in the first half.

Denver won game 1 121-119 on Monday evening.
