KPSC examination triggering political controversy triggered

Concerns regarding a potential question paper during the main examination of the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) on May 5, 2025. Allegations that a question paper had appeared was found at a examination center in Bengaluru before the examination started without sealing and the request for examination was stipulated. However, the KPSC has strongly refuted these claims.

The KPSC quickly responded to the allegations and gave a statement in which a question paper was emphatically rejected. It emphasized a thorough examination with examinations and supervisory authorities of investigating examinations. Their results showed that, although a protective waterproof plastic cover was torn on a bundle of questions, all security seals on the boxes and manipulation covers remained intact. This was confirmed by candidates, superiors and inspectors in the center. The Commission attributed the damage to the external plastic cover during the package or transport to a mechanical error.

The Karnataka BJP also described the state government led by Congress because of the alleged question paper leak with that of Vijayendra, the state BJP boss, chief of the KPSC as “impairment of irregularities and mismanagement” under the current government. He claimed that Lakhs from Kannada medium candidates were already exposed to severe injustices due to translation errors in previous exams, and now another mistake threatens the future of jobs.

Vijayendra said: “A question paper bundle was found in a center in Bengaluru on Monday, and even the supervisory authorities recognized it.” He has requested an investigation into the alleged paper leak and claims that the state government has to pay the award for this mismanagement. The union ministers Joshi repeated these feelings and criticized the KPSC for dealing with the situation and demanded the government's obligation.

In response to the allegations, the KPSC confirmed its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process. They indicated that the questionnaires were transported in sealed boxes, metal trunks and manipulation covers, the only anomaly being the mechanical crack of a waterproof plastic cover. The Commission made it clear that this cover was not a manipulation -free seal and that all security measures were intact when the papers arrived in the examination center.

The KPSC also found that no similar symptoms were reported by other sub -centers, which further increases their position that no leak has occurred. They assured the aspirants that they are devoting themselves to the transparency and safety of examination materials and appealing to the candidates not to discourage unfounded demands on social media.
