Goalkeeper Addison Blicks Three-Save Highlights Mead Girls Soccer of the first round boulder Daily Camera

Longmont-the junior goalkeeper Addison BLICK saved the three-week shutout series from Mead Girls Soccer with a dazzling back-to-back refusal during a quick break on Wednesday evening.

“She was on her head there,” said coach Shane Adler about the stunning moment of his goalkeeper in the 6-0 victory of the sixth seeds against Thomas Jefferson No. 27 in the first round of the 4A playoffs.

However, perspective has to wait. With the game in hand, her trainer remained with about 10 minutes so that she could get to her choir concert on time.

Sing as if there was no tomorrow, look. She has already helped give the Mavericks another day.

The Mavericks scored three times in the opening half of the opening. Sophomore Nataly Joisten scored her first goal in the game in the season before Junior Elena Gomez then added her first of the year in the 20th minute. Senior Addison Martinez delivered her third in the 27 ..

BLICK held there after half time. Her best moment came when he thwarted an outlier in the 47th minute. She met the floor to have a first rescue near the top of the box, and then stretched out so that it was not one but two rebound chances. Finally, able to corrralize the third attempt in her arms, helped keep a shutout strip that returns to Mavericks until mid -April.

Since then it has been goals for Mead for 31 years.

“Her parades were phenomenal tonight,” said Senior Katy Adler about Blick. “The three parades kept our momentum and it was just incredible.”

The end of the night was kindly approved by the kind permission of Adler and her co-star, Junior Maddy Wright.

In a period of 66 seconds in the last 10 minutes, Adler, the two-time Longmont Times-Call girls' football player of the year, her 22nd goal of the season-in 4a between Wright, who scored her 15th and 16th place, has entered third place. Adler also had two assists and gave her a career the most points in the spring.

In the second round, you and the MAVS will search for more on Saturday if you organize No. 11 Air Academy. The last time the Kadets came to Mead was in the first round 2022 4a when they won 24 seeds. Back then, Adler was a newcomer.

“Apart from that (some improvements here and there) we are ready. We are ready to go,” said Adler. “We come to practice and work hard. It is a team performance. We always work together. It is good. We are ready.”

The Mavericks (13-2) were the only 4A-restaurant team that advanced in the post-season after the Skyline No. 25 on No. 8 Dakota Ridge was 6-0.

In 2a, Dawson No. 12 hit James Irwin 3-0 on Wednesday against two goals from Kanoe Bihag 3-0, who now scored 131 goals in her high school career.

In 5a, No. 9 Boulder, No. 10 Boomfield, No. 13 Legacy, No. 17 Fairview on Tuesday.

The first round ends on Thursday with 3a – with No. 4 Prospect Ridge Academy, Jefferson Academy No. 5, No. 12 Peak to Peak, No. 15 Longmont and No. 25 Holy Family.

Friday is the second round of 5A, while the rest of the courses will continue on Saturday.
