SBI confirms the name of the man, which was killed at ECSU mass shootings

Elizabeth City, NC (Witn) – The State Bureau of Investigation has confirmed the name of a man who was shot at the weekend during a mass shooting at Elizabeth City State University.

The SBI says that the 24 -year -old Isaiah Caldwell died early Sunday morning at the ECSU at the shootout. You say that Caldwell was not a student at the university.

In a social media post on Monday, the National Social Fellowship Groove Phi Groove announced that Caldwell was a victim of the shootout.

“He simply had amused, dealt with students when shots on campus did not exchange connected with the university last night, and our dear brother was hit at the crossfire,” said the post.

Groove Phi Groove's post says that Caldwell was a member of the Great Dane Chapter class from 2021. The big dane chapter seems to be supporting the University of Albany. The chapter of ECSU by Groove Phi Groove is the Viking chapter.

The filming occurred on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. during the celebration of the Viking festival at the university.

In addition to Caldwell, five students were injured, three of whom were shot.

911 calls from Witn describe the chaotic and hectic scene after shooting.

One person tells a 911 operator that someone was shot in front of him and that she was outside the Bedell Hall and he no longer reacted.

In another call you can hear the person saying: “In university suites we shot someone into the leg. It is a black woman. I know Cpr. I can use it. We are on the first floor of the university suites.”

The 911 operator tries to try to speak and repeat with the woman: “Ma'am, Ma'am, Ma'am. Calm down. Listen. I have Ems on the way.

Another caller said: “We need police officers, ambulances in the suites of Elizabeth City State University, she was shot into her leg.” The operator replied and said: “We have several calls. We notified the campus police in OK.” The caller then said: “No, no, no, we don't need a campus police, we need an ambulance.”

This call took two minutes with a good part of it, in which the caller and others were heard to take care of the person who had been shot.

Another caller said he had a man who grazed from a ball in the leg and were in the Williams Hall. The operator told him that they would send Ems and had several other victims.

Another witness said that he had heard a lot of loud bangs, but no possible suspects or anything as just crowds of people who run away from the place.

According to the authorities, there were no arrests from the shootings.
