Look at softball playoff pairings on trib HSSN

Welcome to Bracketology Thursday.

The various WPial Committees will meet to set up the brackets for the upcoming playoffs in softball and boys and girls Lacrosse.

In the softball, over 75 district teams will compete six championships.

While the Seneca Valley, Armstrong, Elizabeth Stürmer, Mohawk and Chartens-Houston hope to win two consecutive softball crowns, Neshanock is trying to write history.

The Lancers have won three consecutive WPIAL class -2a championships. Now they only seem to be the second team that wins in episode 2a title.

Old Swissvale HS (Past of the Woodland Hills School District) recorded the first four 2A-soft ball championships from 1979 to 1982.

Neshannock softball is on an incredible role.

Since 2021, the Lancers have won three consecutive WPIAL crowns, two Piaa championships and have lost only one game in the last four seasons, which Everett fell in the semi -finals 2022.

Will the Mars dynasty continue in Boys Lacrosse?

The Lacrosse program from Fightin 'Planets Boys has recorded eight class 2a championships in a row and is one of the favorites to make it nine in a row.

The title run for Mars began in 2016.

It is certainly not that long, but the Lacrosse team by Mt. Lebanon Boys shoots for a three-goal this spring.

The Blue Devils have won two in a row and have had a total of six championships since the first post -season tournament in 2009.

On the side of the girls, the Lebanon in Lebanon would like to bring out the brooms and sweep Lacrosse Gold in 3a again this season.

While the Blue Devils are looking for two hard girls -Lacrosse crowns, Mars wants to do it in 2A three times in a row.

In this decade, the Fightin 'Planets won three of the four girls 2a lacrosse titles, including 2023 and 2024.

Baseball regular season final

On the last day of the regular baseball season of the baseball district, there are two more playoff loungers in WPIAL class 3a.

In Section 4-3a, McGuffey (5-5) can win a victory in a section series against Seton Lasalle in the EQT Park in Washington on Thursday in EQT Park in Washington.

Keystone Oaks (5-6) can win at home with a win at home against Washington and another defeat from McGuffey at home on Thursday.

Volleyball playoff implications

There is a handful of WPIAL Junge -Volleyball Playoff spots that are still accessible to go to the last full night of the regular season.

• In section 1-3a, Upper St. Clair (4-5) and Baldwin (4-5) are third place with Peters Township (3-6). USC visits first place in Lebanon (8-1) and Baldwin, the Peters Township organizes. If Peters Township and Mt. Lebanon win, there will be a three-way difference for third place and all three teams will qualify. If USC and Baldwin win, they will add third place and both will join together.

• In section 2-3a, Penn-Trafford (6-3) and Hempield (6-3) are tied for second place and have both won. Armstrong is a game back (5-4). On Thursday, Hempfield visits Penn Trafford and Armstrong host Norwin fifth. When Penn Trafford and Armstrong win, the River Hawks qualify. When Hempield and Armstrong win, the River Hawks are over because they lose the tiebreaker to PT.

• Seton Lasalle (6-0) Thomas Jefferson (6-1) houses in section 3-2a. If the rebels win at home, they are the detailed section champions. When the Jaguars are victorious, share the section crown with Seton Lasalle.

• South Fayette (8-1) Ambridge (8-1) visits in a championship game of the winner-take-all section in section 4-2a.

Local companies presented

• Hopewell (4-4) also visited Montour (3-6) in Section 4-2a. The Spartans need a victory and a trinity victory over Hopewell on Friday to climb.
