Down leaks in force temporary closure of the Cleveland Fire Station

Cleveland, Ohio – a Cleveland fire brigade was temporarily closed after the rainy weather led to DACH LOOK this weekend, which prompted the members of the city council to request an explanation.

The fire station 30 in Glenville was temporarily closed on Sunday evening because of water leaks, said the city's spokesman, Tyler Sinclair. A HAZMAT contractor was introduced to ensure that the building is safe and whether renovation or scanning is required. The city also plans to replace the roof of the building.

In a joint explanation, the council members Kevin Conwell and Anthony Hairston said that they were not notified before the fire station was closed, and they learned that they were temporarily closed through news and residents.

The fire station is located in East 103rd Street and the St. Clair Avenue and serves the neighborhood of Glenville and the nearby Bratahl, where Cleveland offers fire cover. The station usually has nine firefighters.

Sinclair said these firefighters had been assigned to three nearby stations. He said the officials had set up plans so that the services are not affected.

Council members have long said that some of the fire department stations of Cleveland and the police district need repairs. In the recent budget negotiations, the city needed the city more capital repair dollars for these public security facilities.

Hairston and Conwell said that they “immediately require a complete explanation for this closure and work to ensure that the fire station 30 quickly reopens and safe for our firefighters, paramedics and Emts.”
