Mosi enters the new era with Taylor Swift Laster Lauter Music Show

If you call all Swifties Tampa Bay – get ready to make your friendship bracelets and shake them off.

The Tampa Museum for Science and Industry (MOSI) turns the entire place on May 15 for the first laser music show of the Digital Dome Theater.

And maybe you suspected that the music of the pop icon Taylor Swift will be the star of the show.

Experience will be at 6:30 p.m. in the recently opened Saunders Planetarium & Digital Dome Theater, the country's second largest planetarium. Tickets cost $ 10 for non-members or $ 8 for Mosi members.

The show is for all ages, and laser visuals are synchronized with songs from every iconic era, from “You belong to me” to “cruel summer” and more.

Effects of the digital coupling theater

The dome held the IMAX Saunders Planetarium until closing in 2017 and the old screen was removed last September. The new dome can hold over 300 seats compared to around 46.

Since it was opened to the public on April 1, the President and CEO of Mosi, John Graydon Smith said that there were more than 15% of the general number of visitors and more than twice as many people who add additional planetarium shows.

“People come and see several shows during a visit because we have over five different shows all day, and so it has exceeded all expectations so far,” said Smith.

Mosis New Saunders Planetarium & Digital Dome Theater will be the second largest planetarium in the country.

The plan has always been to bring back laser shows that were very popular decades ago, said Smith.

The first piece of technology that was installed after the renovation of the dome was the laser music system. And the first pictures they were allowed to test was the Taylor Swift Music Show.

More shows come

Smith said that as a father of two young girls who are big fans, he saw Taylor Swift's music who a car ride, a living room dance party – even illuminated an entire stadium.

“Now imagine that energy in lasers, lights and surround sound explodes in our digital coupling theater about the night sky,” he said.

Smith described how his daughters belonged to the first small group to test the system and saw the music before the event.

“She is [Taylor Swift] Certainly still your moment, and there is no reason why Mosi, you know, should also jump a little on this train, “said Smith.

Apart from the fact that the texts of the songwriter are a popular artist, they combine with pictures to create a multisensory experience. For example, she also alludes to the various aspects of the universe in her early music.

As in “Mary's Song”, she sings, “I looked at you like the stars that shone in the sky, the pretty lights.”

Or in “mastermind” where the texts go: “It was once the planets and fate and all stars.”

And one of the most obvious callouts ever with “Snow on the Beach” when she sings “I have searched Aurora borealis green.”

All of these texts help to create a strong storytelling when it comes to a laser show.

“And in the Taylor Swift show, especially because your songs know in many ways, the pictures that goes hand in hand are really graphically,” he said.

But Taylor Swift is not the only show that visitors can anticipate – Mosi has about 40 different music shows that can do this and continues to expand the catalog.

Some shows that you want to roll out in the near future are Pink Floyd and Queen.

“Pink Floyd never seems to go out of fashion,” said Smith about the choice.

The other shows that Mosi rolls are visual with lights and flashing colors, he explained.

“It is still very cool. It is just different types of pictures associated with different songs and different artists,” said Smith. “It's a nice experience. It's pretty trippy.”

A new era for Mosi

And when Taylor swift and hugs the word “era”, also the museum.

“Mosi has his new rebirth era, and the digital dome was really the key component that we worked on,” said Smith.

He added that the dome had brought the museum to a new level and gives the opportunity to grow.

The eight-story digital dome at Mosi offers star shows and Select 360-degree film experiences.

“It gives us the opportunity to expand the audience in terms of the number of people in a certain show, but also that many people are brought together to a room gives us the opportunity to do live music, special events and things that we have not been able to do for over a decade,” said Smith.

And although Mosi continues to focus on supporting local schools in the upbringing of children, Smith said that they are also in negotiations that could possibly create special events such as weddings.

“There is still a lot that we have not even rolled out,” said Smith.

But one question remains: are you ready for it?
